What is Microsoft Teams Direct Routing?

Great question! Teams Direct Routing allows you to make calls to businesses and customers throughout the world, all within Microsoft Teams. By using SIP trunks to route your calls over the internet, it is a cost-effective solution delivered via one platform.

How does Teams Direct Routing work?

We simply host a Microsoft Teams-certified Session Border Controller (SBC) within our own network, which we then connect to our SIP Trunks. We then add another trunk between the SBC and Microsoft Teams so we can configure the line and connect this up with your Teams accounts.

What if I already have Office 365 but not Teams?

Depending on your Office 365 licence, you’ll either already have free access to Teams or you may need to upgrade. Contact us if you’d to discuss your organisation’s setup.

Why should I buy from Gradwell?

We are one of the UK’s leading IP communications providers. We work with SMEs, charities and larger businesses to help them get the most out of modern telephony and communications software.

To use Wave Teams+, do I need a Microsoft license?

Yes – A Microsoft 365 subscription with Teams is needed, plus a Teams Phone Standard (without calling plan) license.

Does presence work with Wave Teams+?

Yes. Depending on what kind of call you are making, we update presence in both systems to reflect your availability. If you’re making a PSTN call, Teams updates to say you’re busy / on a call. If you are using a Teams feature - like video calling or in a meeting - then Wave will update your presence automatically. This means whichever system you’re viewing, you can see the  accurate and real-time availability of colleagues.

Do I get call recording with Wave Teams+?

Yes – call recording is a Wave feature, and works on inbound and outbound calls that are handled by Wave only. Teams to Teams voice or video calls are not recorded in Wave.
