Product review: Siemens Gigaset SL78 cordless handset

Siemens Gigaset have outdone themselves with the hugely appealing SL78 IP DECT handset.

The solid metal design feels chunky and ergonomically pleasing to hold. It looks more like a mobile phone that a desk phone with its metallic fascia. The screen is big and bright with a good range of colours making it a lot easier on the eyes than typical desk phones. Even the button pushes feels positive and solid.

This phone is for users who are looking for portability and flexibility without sacrificing on looks. Our head of sales “loves it” and is endlessly positive about it. The main trade-off comes from the need to have a Gigaset  base station .  The phone offers twofold options for hands-free talking: either via the Bluetooth® headset connection or the handset’s full duplex hands-free capabilities.

Because the SL78 focuses upon design and flexibility it is more suited for those with lighter usage requirements, who require a deal of mobility. The phone itself however ranks very highly and is popular amongst our staff.
