Calls charges to mobiles are changing

Due to wholesale increases and changes from our mobile carriers, we are changing our mobile call charges to the T-Mobile, Virgin and Hutchison 3G networks from 1st August 2010.

Calls to T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile numbers will be charged at 12ppm (pence per minute) for peak times, 9ppm for evening calls and just 6ppm on the weekends.

Calls to Hutchison 3G numbers will cost 15ppm for peak and evening calls, and just 5ppm for calls made on the weekend.

Vodafone and Orange currently cost 12ppm, 9ppm and 6ppm respectively.

From market forecasts, we anticipate that these our rates for calls to Vodafone, Orange, Virgin, O2, T-Mobile and Hutchison 3G will return to 9ppm peak, 8ppm evenings and 6ppm on weekends by September.

We are aware that the rates charged for calls to UK mobiles have become increasingly erratic in recent months. This has been directly due to monthly price changes charged by the mobile networks themselves. There is dissatisfaction in general within the telecommunications industry with regards to these changes however under the current regulations only the average prices charged by the networks are regulated by Ofcom. The networks are free to reach that average in any way they see fit to do so.

We realise that these price changes can be difficult for you and we are actively lobbying about this. However our hands are tied and until Ofcom’s method of regulation of the mobile networks pricing changes there is nothing we can do to influence these prices.

To rid yourself of the worry of mobile call costs you can add our UK mobile bolt-on. Each month, for just £30.00 + VAT, you get inclusive mobile minutes, allowing you to forget about call costs and concentrate on your business.

If you have any questions about our tariff change or our bolt-ons, please contact our sales team at sales@gradwell.com.
