Twitter has taken the business world by storm. We all remember the ‘old days’ when we had to write a letter or send an email to a company in order to query something about a new brand or product or complain. Nowadays customers and consumers can just send a tweet about a company, positive or negative, and then they just await a response. The effectiveness of Twitter is that it can be seen by anyone who views your account.
So what should you be thinking about when you decide to start using Twitter? Some top tips can be found below.
Fill in your profile information
Make sure you fill in the location, bio, website URL and company picture. This is the simplest and easiest way to show the account is looked after and monitored. It also allows you to advertise your company, so make sure the bio is to the point.
Tell people why they should be following you! Engage your followers with interesting content and retweet and share interesting links that you come across. Remember, your followers are following you because they are interested in your company or brand and your knowledge.
Experiment with your tweets
This isn’t an exact science, every industry is different, so experiment with your audience and offering. Try tweeting long and short tweets and try changing the days and times you tweet. Doing this will allow you to see and keep a record of when you get the most interaction from your followers, which you can therefore use to your advantage.
