Mail Fileservers

Our Email Standard mailboxes are stored on a cluster of mail fileservers, which in turn are built on top of our VMWare ESX platform.

Each mailbox is assigned to a specific mail fileserver. We move mailboxes from mail fileserver to mail fileserver as required (e.g. providing more disk space), but this is handled transparently in the background.

You can see which mail fileserver your mailbox is stored on through the Hosting Control Panel. This is sometimes useful to know, for example when we have upcoming maintenance or a problem announced via gradwellstatus.com.
