How to purchase Gradwell Hosted Exchange mailboxes for your domain

Getting Started

Please note - this document is now outdated due to a technical change to our platform, this document does however remain for users that are still provisioned on the "Genesis" platform for reference. New accounts are being created on our "Cloud Mail" platform and a large amount of the information in this document does not apply apart from the "Advanced Configuration and Troubleshooting" section towards the end of the document.

The Hosted Exchange product includes various collaboration features such as calendars, remote Outlook webmail and a free copy of Outlook 2007 included with each mailbox.

For each domain you choose to create on our Hosted Exchange product, all mailbox's will be created on this platform - you cannot mix mailbox's between our standard mail platform and our enhanced services.

Basic Configuration

Once you have logged into your account at http://www.gradwell.com/myaccount , you will need to click on the Signup tab at the top of the screen

Next, click on Email (Exchange) which can be found under Signup Wizards

You will now need to select the type of mailbox you require, either Exchange Premier or Exchange Advanced. Click the Buy now button under the account you require.

Once you have chosen your mailbox, you will next need to select the domain name that you wish to setup on the hosted exchange platform. Once you have chosen your domain click on Continue.

The next screen will allow you to create your first mailbox so that email can be delivered from other Internet users to your account.

  • Please note, your mailbox password must follow the guidelines below:
  1. The password must be between 7 & 127 caracters, and must contain at least 3 of the following categories:
  2. English Uppercase Characters (A through Z)
  3. English Lowercase Characters (a through z)
  4. Base-10 digits (0 through 9)
  5. Non-alphanumeric (i.e. !, $, #, %) extended ASCII, sumbolic or linguistic characters

Once the details in the "Enter mailbox details" section have been filled in, click on Add to Cart

If you require any help you can click on the blue ? Icons, to popup context sensitive help.

You will then be presented with an overview of the newly created mailbox,

At this stage you can add additional mailboxes by clicking on the Add Another button, if you have finished adding mailbox's select Proceed to Checkout to continue.

You will need to agree to Gradwell's Terms and Conditions of business in order to complete the purchase process, these will be displayed on screen.

If you are happy with them please click on "I agree to the terms and conditions above", and click Continue

You will then be presented with the items you have purchased, together with any discounts and billing information

If you are happy with the items you have purchased, please click on Continue.

Depending on your payment arrangements you may then need to complete a payment mandate or provide a one time credit card payment. Once payment has been successfully made, click Continue

Your mailboxes will then be provisioned on our network. Our system will send an automated email once the accounts are ready for use.

You will receive additional information on how to make changes to your DNS zone file. This is required so that email can be delivered to your account and so that Outlook is able to communicate with our Hosted Exchange servers correctly.
