Web Development Team Leader

Salary: £25,000-£35,000 per year
Location: Cheltenham Street, Bath

About The Job

We are currently recruiting for a Web Development Team Leader, who will run the Engineering Department's Web Development Team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that the team delivers agreed projects and resolves production issues. The Team Leader will also act as the technical authority for Web technology, implement engineering best practices, and develop the skills of team members.

Our Web Development Team creates and maintains Gradwell's ecommerce and self-service control panel websites, and the integration between our in-house back office systems and our partners and suppliers (such as Tiscali and Netsuite). Much of our strategic plan is focused on incremental improvements to these systems over the next two years, making this an exciting and influential role within the company.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the Web Development Team on a day-to-day basis
  • Design and deliver Web systems to requirements agreed with Product Management
  • Maintain and execute project plans as agreed with the Head of Engineering
  • Resolve production issues referred from elsewhere in the business
  • Be the company's technical authority for Web systems and technologies
  • Develop and implement engineering best practices for Web
  • Ensure the Web Development Team are following engineering best practices
  • Mentor junior members of the Web Development Team
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the business, its practices, and technical systems, specialising in Web
     

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level
  • In-depth knowledge of Apache, PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL
  • Knowledge of Debian GNU/Linux, Symfony framework, Javascript

Salary, Location, Benefits

Salary is £25,000 per year. We also provide a range of benefits, including a Company Pension, BUPA Healthcare, Internet and Telecoms Services and Free Parking in Bath.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) based at our Bath offices on Cheltenham Street, reporting to our Head of Engineering. You will receive 24 days holiday per year, plus public holidays.
